And so it begins...

Inspired by "The Buried Life" and my friend and coworker Ryan who recently started the Day Zero Project, I have decided to start my own 101 in 1001 Days list... I have only been able to think of 98 things so far, but 101 is a lot! I'll think of an additional three items soon enough :) The concept is simple:

The Challenge:

Complete 101 preset tasks in a period of 1001 days.

The Criteria:
Tasks must be specific (ie. no ambiguity in the wording) with a result that is either measurable or clearly defined. Tasks must also be realistic and stretching (ie. represent some amount of work on your part).

Why 1001 Days?
Many people have created lists in the past - frequently simple challenges such as New Year's resolutions or a 'Bucket List'. The key to beating procrastination is to set a deadline that is realistic. 1001 Days (about 2.75 years) is a better period of time than a year, because it allows you several seasons to complete the tasks, which is better for organising and timing some tasks such as overseas trips, study semesters, or outdoor activities.

After following Ryan's blog, I was inspired to start my own list and blog about it as well, in the hopes that in a small way it will make my life more interesting and that writing down my goals will help motivate me to achieve them. Also, the deadline is important as one of my worst habits is procrastination. And so begins the next 1,001 days of my life... :)
